Letting go of your possessions can sometimes be a pivotal moment in life. It could be a house, a car, or any other valuable possession that you may have had for several years. However, there can also be legal implications when you decide to let go of these things. To get away from future inconvenience, you may be asked or required to create a Release Form. This serves as proof that an individual has decided to let go of his or her ownership over something and pass it on in one form or another. In some instances, it may be a cause for legal action.

In some circumstances, documents may be required before anyone can legally acquire something. General Release Forms are an example of such a required document. These forms involve one party who decides to surrender his or her legal capacity over something and give it to another party. The individual who initiates such release of legal rights is the releasor, while those who are being released from future claims is the releasee.
These contractual agreements require certain considerations to be valid. However, in case of disputes, the releasor can relinquish his right to assert future claims. In a business context, a vendor or supplier might agree to release a certain institution or organization of whom it has engaged in prior business with. Releasing such from future liability will have to be done in exchange of money or some sort of agreed-upon terms by both parties.
Furthermore, an employer may agree to pay a certain amount to an employee provided that the employee agrees to waive his or her right to sue the employer. More importantly, a General Release has the effect of releasing the party at fault.

Liability Release Forms are considered legal documents where an individual decides to release his or her legal rights to participate in activities which involve a certain amount of risks. By doing so, an individual agrees to let the institution or organization absolve itself of any liability. These forms are typically used whenever a certain activity that may involves risks, doesn’t require any participation or whatsoever by an individual.
Simply put, there is no obligation nor mandate for people to join. However, if an individual declines to sign this form, such individual will not be allowed to participate in any given activity. In some places, these types of forms may not be enforceable depending on the statutes regarding liability releases.
Another thing to consider is that such forms are not enforceable should the jargon be too confusing and complicated to understand. If one party is not able to ensure the proper understanding of the clauses in these forms, this may cause such party to be held liable should something happen to the participant.
